CarolineIntroduction from our Executive Headteacher

Our school is now part of the Soaring Skies Federation as we formally federated with Colvestone Primary on 1st September 2017. I look forward to working with your children, parents and staff to ensure an excellent educational offer for all children at Thomas Fairchild. This term we will be offering children the opportunity to work with our resident artist, resident gardener and Spanish teacher. New additions to our provision include drumming and dancing and a fencing club. You will be able to find out more in your class newsletters. Our curriculum theme is Heritage: Ancient Civilisations and again you will be able to have an understanding of what your child will be learning from the class newsletter. Please put the term dates in your diaries. I look forward to an exciting year ahead with you and your children.

HeatherIntroduction from our Head of School

It has been an exciting start to the new school year as we begin our official federation with Colvestone Primary. We continue to be committed to providing an education for life-long learners where children are happy and successful. The new academic year has got off to an excellent start and I am confident that the year ahead will be marked by notable achievements in all areas of the children’s experience. I look forward to working with the whole school community in the coming year. Thank you for your continued support.

Ms Heather Smith
Head of School

The school motto “Make it Happen Together” states the vision for a safe, purposeful and aspirational environment at Thomas Fairchild.

We believe all stakeholders have the right and ability to create, learn and motivate together in order to establish a stable and motivational community which benefits all pupils.

Thomas Fairchild is a thriving two-form entry community school where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential.   We strongly believe that it is important for our whole school community to treat each other with respect and to inspire each other to succeed.

We are working to secure good outcomes for all of our children and believe they should have the chance to learn, achieve, enjoy and understand their role within the local school community.

At Thomas Fairchild you will find:

  • A happy and welcoming atmosphere
  • An environment which promotes the inclusion of all cultural backgrounds and differences
  • Inspired and motivated learners
  • Committed and enthusiastic staff
  • High expectations for academic, social and personal achievement
  • The development of a curriculum that aims to support and challenge all children to do their best.

At Thomas Fairchild we welcome children, parents and carers into a friendly, happy and hard working environment.  Respect for others, positive attitudes towards learning and behaviour are encouraged and nurtured.  This is because we believe we “Make it Happen Together”.
