Nursery Admission

Children can join our nursery a term after they become three years old. You can register your child to attend our nursery at any time, our waiting list is not based on a first come first served policy. We manage the list based on the guidance from The Hackney Learning Trust regarding Nursery admissions and follow the over subscription criteria set out below in points 1-5.

Our Nursery offers part-time (15hrs AM or PM) places. Some children are entitled to a full-time (30hrs) place. To see if you meet the required criteria for a full-time place please visit;

How to apply:

  • Pick up an application form from the school.
  • Fill in a nursery application form
  • Provide proof of address with your application form

What happens next:

  • The school will write to you before your child is due to attend to let you know if they have a place
  • If your child is offered a place, the school will also need to see your child’s birth certificate to confirm their date of birth, availability of places.
  • If more children apply for a nursery place than there are places, the Headteacher will give out the places in the following order:
  1. Children in public care or subject to a child protection plan who live in the area
  2. Children with an educational, medical or social need for a nursery place
  3. Children whose parents can take up or stay in a teaching post in one of our schools
  4. Children with brothers and sisters already at the school (includes foster and step brothers and sisters living at the same address)
  5. Children living nearest to the school in a straight line from their home address or their childminder’s address

Places will be given to the most vulnerable children and those in need first. Assessments and evidence will be used to decide the level of need for each child to offer them a place.

Right of appeal:

There is no right of appeal for admission to nursery schools.
