Ice Skating at Somerset House – November 2019 – 100% Attendance reward

Well done to our 100% achievers, they all had a great time on the ice… A bit apprehensive at first, but they soon got the hang of it.  It was a pleasure to see them having such fun and we were told what “great and respectful children “ they were.  Once again thanks for your support. Please do continue to encourage your child to attend school every day.

Year 1 Singing with VOCES8

When they were in Year 1, Year 2 took part in a research project with a music education charity called the VOCES8 Foundation and University College London which wanted to find out about the  effects of daily, good-quality singing on children’s learning.  With regular visits from Singing Leaders from the professional ensemble Apollo5, the children and their teachers learned a lot about singing as well as having a lot of fun!  The project culminated in a performance at the Gresham Centre alongside Apollo5.  We are very proud of all the children involved and a big thank you to Ms Khatun and Ms Ayyildiz for their enthusiasm and hard work too.

Year 6 trip to The British Museum (29.10.19)

Year 6 ventured to the British Museum on a quest of ancient culture. The classes were engrossed in a digital trail whilst they explored objects produced by bronze, jade and pottery. They were able to identify what these items told us about life during the Shang Dynasty.

Year 6 children celebrated the end of their school year by enjoying a residential trip to Ripple down Outdoor Learning Centre.

Our children were very excited to take part in the outdoor activities which ranged from a mini-beast hunt, rock polling, orienteering, tent setting up, pond dipping and much more.

Everyone had a fabulous time and didn’t want to come back!

Year 5 Celtic Harmony Trip – 2019

Year 5 have had the most amazing experience by visiting Celtic Harmony residential camp. Celtic Harmony provides a program of Prehistory Residential trips and Day trips covering Stone, Bronze and Iron Age Britain for schools and the local community, to promote a more sustainable way of life in harmony with the natural world.

Our children were able to take part in activities such as:

Den building, Flint Tools and Make Soap Arrow Heads, Hunting in the woods, Wattle Fencing & Dyeing, Gathering & Cooking with Herbs, Orienteering, Field Games, Team Building, Collecting Firewood, Roasting Marshmallows, Celtic Dream Catchers, Story Bat Walk and so much more!

They all came back exhausted but having experiences one of the best outdoor experiences.
