Safeguarding Children on Internet matters

Keeping safe during COVID-19

KEEPING SAFE AND ONLINE

If you have any concerns whilst you are working online there are clear reporting routes in place so that you can raise anything you need to whilst online. If you have a concern about a child/peer please also report this. It is important we are doing all we can to support each other whilst we under the lock-down.

Visit Childline (childline.org.uk) for support and advice. You can start 1-2-1 chats online on the website or ring them on 08001111. There is also some great material on there to help boost your mood and support your general mental health in these challenging circumstances.

Use UK Safer Internet Centre (saferinternet.org.uk) – to report and remove harmful online content.

Use CEOP (www.ceop.police.uk) for advice on making a report about online abuse.

HOME LEARNING PACKS

Today marks the start of a new term. It is a different start to what we are used to but at Soaring Skies we continue to be committed to our children and their learning experiences, whether they be at school or home.

Our topic for this term is ‘Space and Aviation’ and we are asking that children explore the activities set for them and record their learning in their Home Learning books as much as possible. The activities activities planned will be a mixture of independent and family centered discussions, tasks, practical activities. Please aim to do the daily activities each day because they will help to refresh and remind children of essential skills for their year group.

We look forward to seeing and hearing all about the learning taking place at home.

CREATIVE MANIFESTO CHALLENGE

Eastside is an organisation that we have worked with to help develop children’s creative thinking and problem solving. Eastside & SYRUP are creating a professional art installation envisioning the future that YOU want to see. See details below of an exciting opportunity to write a manifesto to share what your ideal world would be like and what you want to see in the future. Details of how, when and where the manifestos are to be sent can be found below. There is also a link to watch a film that gives more information about the entries. This is a great opportunity for you to share your thought and ideas with others, we look forward to seeing your manifestos. Please contact Miss Ephraim via the school office if you require additional information. Also see below the Hackney 30 Days of Music Calendar.
