Adult Learning/Training

at Thomas Fairchild Children’s Centre:

We work with a wide range of external and internal providers to ensure parents can access some form of Adult or Family Learning.

All training is free (but you may need to check the entry criteria with the course tutors)

To access our training courses you need to be a Parent or Carer of a child under 11 living in Hackney.

If you wish to attend one of our courses please complete our Training Enquiry form and return it to our admin team, we will then contact you each time a course you may be interested in completing.

Parent’s have been taking part in various courses during the last year which have included:

  • Strengthening Families/ Strengthening Communities,
  • Speak Easy,
  • Henry
  • Fun with numbers.
  • BTEC Level 1 Customer Service
  • Level 3 Learning Support Award
  • Literacy Entry 2 & 3 – Level 1 & 2,
  • ESOL
  • Sewing
  • ICT Level 2


Most, if not all of the parents have been successful in gaining a new qualification/skills, enabling them to move on to further learning or gain employment.
